Oh, hi. I didn’t see you come in. My name is Hillary.
I’m 27 years old and I have thyroid cancer. I’m 28 years old, and I’m a thyroid cancer survivor. And now I’m going to write about life.
This blog is, as you can see, in its natal stage, and it’s starting as a kind of writing-therapy, journal-esque, 20-something-musing-about-the-universe-and-all-its-intricacies type of thing. Who knows what it will grow into, but whatever it is, I’m excited about it.
After being laid-off and diagnosed with thyroid cancer in the summer of 2013, I came to live with my husband, our cat, my parents, and their dog in my childhood home. If you think it sounds funny, you’d be right. We’re all eagerly awaiting the next step in our collective journey.
As a Validated Hypochondriac, I’m trying to live life as well as I can. I hope you all out there in the internet like what I have to say about it. And even if you don’t, I hope you at least find it interesting.
There’s beauty out there in everything, and I’d like to think that I’m going to find as much as possible before my time is up.
